PIERRE BABBAGE - (ALL PRONOUNS)

PIERRE IS A movement ARTIST, CHOREOGRAPHER AND MOVEMENT DIRECTOR BORN IN PARAGUAY AND RAISED IN DORSET. CURRENTLY BASED IN SOUTH LONDON.

Influenced by surrealism, 00’s action movies and old diary entries, THEIR PRACTICE FOCUSES ON DANCE AS A MEANS OF CONNECTING TO queer history and ancestry, rejection, sexualization and hopeQUEER ANCESTRY, DISPLACED AND REPRESSED IDENTITIES USING MOVEMENT AS A SPACE TO EXPLORE THESE QUESTIONS AND EXPERIENCES.

THEY CO-RUN QUEER DANCE PLATFORM & PARTY MIND UR HEAD WITH FRASERFAB, A SPACE DEDICATED TO NURTURING AND GIVING OPPORTUNITIES TO EMERGING AND MORE ESTABLISHED ARTISTS.

IN 2017 THEY CO-FOUNDED PIERRE & BABY WITH LUKE BAFICO A QUEER DANCE DUO THAT HAS SHOWN THEIR WORK AT THE RVT, V&A LATE, WELLCOME COLLECTION READING ROOM, THE YARD, GROW TOTTENHAM AND WHO’S WORK HAS BEEN FEATURED IN HUNGER, PAPER MAG & CHROM-ART.
