sovar wearable is created by Ava Aghakouchak in collaboration with Pierre Babbage, Shahin Entezami, Natasha Rukavishnikova.
Sovar is an active soft wearable which maps certain architectural elements within the perceptual scene on the skin of its wearer. The cross-modal mapping of the space on the user's back raises their attention to the surroundings and increases their sense of presence within the space. Sovar can be used as a tool for navigating physical or virtual spaces, a choreographic device for networked performances, and a tactile amplifier for virtual touch
QUEER FAGGY DANCE FUN
In December 2020 fraserfab, wet mess and Pierre hosted a queer dance event in London. The weekend long event was hosted at Ugly Duck and was generously supported by The Chateau.
"We felt it was important to reconnect with our queer dance peers at a moment when we felt so distant from one another. Dance is healing. We wanted to offer a space without any pressure to perform or share work. The soul purpose was to come together, take care of the body and reconnect. Dress up, dress down, make-up, looks, whatever they felt like. An opportunity to go full out and feel what it's like to really dance outside of our bedrooms again. This film is a celebration of queer collective joy.”
